MEET YOUR Archivist

Ariel Matthews
Archival Librarian

Ariel has been working to develop relationships across Moore County to build a platform for a collaborative digital archive. The vision for this archive is a publicly accessible catalog that connects collections and ephemera county wide through the use of trust, storytelling, and metadata.

She received her Master’s in Library and Information Sciences from UNC Chapel Hill with a specialization in Archives and Records Management. Ariel has experience with the collections at Tufts Archives, Moore County Historical Association, & Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities. She is also an inaugural member of the Carthage Historic Preservation Committee.
